James R. Washington III is a federal criminal defense and federal tax litigation attorney with more than 15 years of experience representing individuals facing serious and complex matters.
He has successfully defended clients charged with drug, firearm, RICO, and white collar offenses. He has secured acquittals at trial, and obtained appellate victories before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has also negotiated with federal prosecutors to reduce or dismiss significant charges when appropriate.
In addition to his federal criminal defense practice, Mr. Washington has represented individuals in complex federal tax litigation for over 15 years, including trials before the United States Tax Court. His prior service with the IRS and his CPA credential provide him with an exceptional understanding of financial evidence and tax enforcement practices.
